77. dodjela nagrada Emmy, koja prati sve ono što se događa u TV produkciji, održana je u Peacock Theatreu u Los Angelesu uz domaćina Natea Bargatzea.
Najviše nominacija ove godine imali su “Severance” i “Pingvin”, odnosno 27 i 24, a tu su vrlo blizu bili i “Bijeli lotus” i “The Studio” s 23 te “The Last of Us” sa 16. Svakako od najzanimljivijih nominacija treba izdvojiti onu Harrosona Forda koji je u 83. godini prvi put konkurirao za nagradu.
Što se tiče pobjednika, situacija je bila obrnuta od nominacija, donekle, pa su tako najveći pobjednici “The Pitt” (“Pitsburška bolnica”), “The Studio” i “Adolescence” (“Adolescencija”) koje su dobile Emmy za izvanrednu dramsku seriju, izvanrednu humorističnu seriju i izvanrednu mini ili antologijsku seriju. Ujedno su Noah Wyle, Seth Rogen i Stephen Graham dobili Emmyje za uloge u ovim serijama, svatko u svojim kategorijama, dramskoj, humorističnoj i mini ili antologijskoj seriji. Velike ovacije publike dobio je mladi Owen Cooper koji je debitirao u seriji “Adolescencija”, a koji je dobio Emmy za sporednu ulogu u mini seriji ili filmu. Jean Smart je istu nagradu u kategoriji humoristične serije dobila za ulogu u seriji “Hacks” (“Komičari”), a izvrsna Katherine LaNasa u kategoriji dramske serije za sporednu ulogu u “Pitsburškoj bolnici”.
No, nije “Severance” ostao bez nagrada u potpunosti, Britt Lower je dobila Emmy za izvanrednu glumicu, Merritt Wever dobila je nagradu na izvanrednu gostujuću glumicu, a Trammel Tillman Emmyja za sporednu ulogu, svi u kategoriji dramske serije.
